Iowa City Update: Fall tree planting, ICSC Pickleball Jamboree, and urban bow hunting

Iowa City Update is a weekly video featuring City of Iowa City projects, programs, and events. This week, learn about plans to expand the treescape in two neighborhoods this fall, a pickleball party for all ages, and the application process for the City's bow hunt season.

Iowa City Parks and Forestry staff will plant trees this fall in the South District and Stone Bridge neighborhoods, adding new trees to residential rights-of-way at no cost to homeowners.

Pickleball players of all ages and skill levels are invited to sign up for the third annual ICSC Pickleball Jamboree on Oct. 4, featuring clinics, tournaments, and plenty of fun.

Applications are open for the City's urban bow hunting season, which will be held from Sept. 19, 2026 through Jan. 10, 2026, as part of the City's long-term effort to manage the local deer population.
