Washington, D.C. - Representative Dave Min (CA-47) voted to denounce political violence and offered the following statement:
"Like many Americans, I strongly disagreed with Charlie Kirk, who had a long history of racist and divisive rhetoric. But those political disagreements, no matter how deep they may be, can never be allowed to turn into violence or censorship.
This resolution first and foremost condemns political violence and mourns the horrific murder of Charlie Kirk, which is why I voted for it.
At a time when political violence is surging, including the assassination of Minnesota State House Speaker Melissa Hortman and attempted assassination of Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro earlier this year, or last year's attempted assassination of then-presidential candidate Donald Trump, we must come together and decisively and loudly denounce political violence of all kinds."
