STATEMENT: Lt. Governor Micah Beckwith released the following statement today:
INDIANAPOLIS -"Charlie Kirk dedicated his life to building through productive, thought-provoking conversation. His faith and conviction bridged the gap for a generation of young conservatives, guiding them back to God and to the enduring principles of hard work, grit and responsibility.
In honor of Charlie Kirk, I am proposing a bridge be named after him here in Indiana. Ideally, it would be a pedestrian bridge - a natural place for people to slow down, talk and connect.
By creating space for conversation and community, it reflects the same spirit Charlie Kirk carried through his work - reaching millions through peaceful debate and open dialogue.
Just as bridges link our communities, his legacy reminds us to keep building connections with one another.
The Charlie Kirk Unity Bridge will serve as a lasting reminder that true strength is not in dividing, but in uniting."
