Join friends, family and neighbors for unique Pedal La Paz Road Biking Event May 16

In honor of Bike Safety Month, the City is teaming up with the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) for a special Pedal La Paz Road Biking Event from 9 am to 1 pm on Saturday, May 16.

For one day, a travel lane will be temporarily closed to create a protected car-free bike lane. This is your chance to bike, scoot, or roll through the corridor in a comfortable environment and experience firsthand how a separated bikeway could improve safety, connectivity, and accessibility for people of all ages and abilities.

Ride along La Paz Road between Marguerite Parkway and Veterans Way, then stop by Newhart Middle School to enjoy a youth bike safety course, community booths, free tune-ups, and giveaways. Connect with the project team, ask questions, and share your feedback to help shape future bikeway improvements.

To boot, the first 50 youth riders will receive a free bike helmet while supplies last.
