Today
In light of recent developments in Cuba and the dire situation the Cuban people faces, the Governments of Brazil, Spain and Mexico:

1. Express our deep concern regarding the serious humanitarian crisis the Cuban people faces and call for the necessary measures to be taken to alleviate this situation and to avoid actions that worsen the living conditions of the population or contravene international law. We commit to stepping up our coordinated humanitarian response aimed at alleviating the suffering of the Cuban people.
2. We reiterate the need to respect at all times international law and the principles of territorial integrity, sovereign equality and the peaceful settlement of disputes, as enshrined in the United Nations Charter.
3. We reaffirm our unwavering commitment to human rights, democratic values and multilateralism, and in this regard we call for a sincere and respectful dialogue in accordance with international law and the principles of the United Nations Charter. Its aim must be to find a lasting solution to the current situation and to ensure that it is the Cuban people themselves who decide their future in complete freedom.
