Calloway Apartments Incidents

On September 27, 2026, officers responded to the Calloway House, located at 333 E. Brooks Street, regarding a reported burglary in progress.

A resident of an apartment reported waking up to find an unknown individual inside their room. As the individual left the apartment, the resident called 911. When officers arrived, they were informed that the individual had entered a second apartment. Officers entered and cleared the second apartment before learning the individual had entered a third apartment.

Officers made contact with the individual, who was identified as Gavin Vanderven, a resident of the third apartment. Vanderven was arrested and booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center on two counts of burglary.

A similar incident was reported at the Calloway House on September 21, 2026. In that incident, a resident reported waking up to find an unknown individual going through drawers inside the apartment, fled the scene and was unable to be located.

The Norman Police Department Criminal Investigations Section is continuing to investigate both incidents to determine whether they are connected. Additional charges may be requested as the investigation continues.
