Movement for the Mind explores the protective benefit of exercise for people with a family history of Alzheimer's Disease or dementia on Monday, October 5, from 12-1 pm at the Kathleen Clay Edwards Family Branch, 1420 Price Park Rd. Jennifer Etnier, Department of Kinesiology at UNCG, will share insights from the Physical Activity and Alzheimer's Disease 2 Study. Join in person or via Zoom.
Managing Money - A Caregiver's Guide to Finances offers tips for managing someone else's finances and how to prepare for future care costs on Tuesday, October 6, from 5:30-7:30 pm at the Hemphill Branch, 2301 W. Vandalia Rd. This workshop is hosted by Ben Yeager (Program Manager, Alzheimer's Association), Donna Gilchrist (Care Coordinator, The Elderlaw Firm), and Jim Kappelman (Senior Care Authority). Reverend Sayward Wilson (Cone Health) will be available for free health care power of attorney services.
Sensory Sparks: Engaging Caregivers and Loved Ones will offer inspiring ways to help family members stay engaged and help manage stress on Monday, October 19 from 6-7:30 pm at the Kathleen Clay Edwards Family Branch, 1420 Price Park Rd. Well-Spring Solutions and Caregiver Connect will help you discover new tools to spark joy and foster connection.
