HGTV Heats Up Summer with New Series 'Worst Yard on the Block' and 'Extreme Buyers Club' and New Seasons of Popular Titles This July

HGTV will heat up summer with the premiere of 40 new episodes this July, including two freshman series-Worst Yard on the Block featuring dramatic outdoor rescues and the eccentric house-hunting series Extreme Buyers Club-as well as the latest seasons of popular titles Renovation Resort Showdown, Holmes on Homes: Building a Legacy and Ugliest House in America.

A new eight-episode season of the high-stakes reno competition Renovation Resort Showdown (MEM) will premiere on Wednesday, July 1, at 9 p.m. ET/PT, after attracting over 13.3 million viewers across linear and streaming to its last run. Real estate expert and contractor Scott McGillivray (Rock the Block) and builder and home renovation expert Bryan Baeumler (Renovation Island: The Adventure Continues) will challenge four talented build/design teams from across North America to transform a long-neglected lakeside resort in the Kawartha Lakes regions into the ultimate vacation destination. The skilled competitors-friends Chalon and Liz of Dallas, Texas; sisters Marcy and Melissa of Niagara, Ontario; creative collaborators Tatianna and Thomas of Vancouver, British Columbia; and entrepreneurs and friends Taylor and Mehrdad of Vancouver, British Columbia-will have just eight weeks and a $150,000 budget to create the breathtaking, one-of-a-kind vacation homes. Each week, Scott, Bryan and expert guest judges will evaluate the overhauled spaces based on elements such as build quality, functionality and creativity to ultimately determine which team wins bragging rights and a life-changing $100,000 cash prize. The season premiere will follow each team as they choose their cabin's exterior finishes, and they'll be paired up to design the outdoor communal spaces on both the land and the lake. In a surprise twist, Scott and Bryan also reveal that an additional $100,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded to the weekly challenge champions in the most winning season of Renovation Resort Showdown ever.

In Worst Yard on the Block (Anomaly Entertainment), two teams of curb appeal aficionados will search out the most unsightly yards in the country, meet the overwhelmed homeowners and perform miraculous outdoor makeovers in just a matter of days. Throughout the 12-episode season, premiering Wednesday, July 15, at 10 and 10:30 p.m. ET/PT, dynamic outdoor design duos Tucker Kincaid and Jared "J.Paul" Foster and Blake Hawthorn and Margo Fairchild will make house calls to neighborhood eyesores with one mission: create manicured masterpieces out of utter despair. From an overgrown meadow with sprawling feral cats to a formerly abandoned home with thousands of dollars in fines, these landscaping experts will transform lawns and lives by injecting new life into out-of-control outdoor spaces.

Next up, Holmes on Homes: Building a Legacy(Make It Right Productions)will premiere six new episodes beginning Sunday, July 19, at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Contractor Mike Holmes will join forces with his kids, home renovation experts Michael Holmes, Jr. and Sherry Holmes, as they continue his legacy - helping worthy homeowners in need. From renovations gone wrong by crooked or incompetent contractors to failed do-it-yourself projects, the Holmes trio will go behind the walls and do whatever it takes to give families safe, functional, efficient and healthy homes. In the premiere episode, a desperate family who is terrified their hazardous bungalow could burn to the ground will turn to the Holmes for help. Mike, Michael and Sherry will confront dangerous electrical issues and overhaul their underutilized basement.

Beginning Monday, July 20, at 9 p.m. ET/PT, HGTV fans will marvel at even more ugly when the mega-hit Ugliest House in America(Big Fish Entertainment)returns with an expanded format now featuring six, one-hour episodes and four hideous houses competing to win in each region of the country. After attracting 12 million viewers across linear and streaming to the last run, actress, comedian and home design enthusiast Retta will tour 20 more preposterous properties, sharing her hilarious hot takes on their shockingly bad designs, cringe-worthy layouts and grossly outdated styles. Based on its ugly appearance, awkward factor and most surprising feature, one house will be crowned the "ugliest house in America" by HGTV, and the network will award its owners a showstopping renovation completed by designer Alison Victoria, one of its top stars, during the season finale episode. Retta will discover the worst in the frontier region during the July 20 premiere, including an Art Deco eyesore boasting padded wallpaper, a rock-roofed house, a desert hillside home filled with tchotchkes and a whimsical woodwork wonder.
