Congressman Fong Withholds Pay in Solidarity with Federal Workers as Senate Democrats Keep Government Shut Down

WASHINGTON, D.C. - After voting to keep the government open 35 days ago, Congressman Vince Fong (CA-20)requested his congressional pay be withheld as hundreds of thousands of federal employees will not receive their paychecks due to the ongoing government shutdown, including air traffic controllers, border patrol agents, and our men and women in uniform.

Yesterday, Senate Democrats voted for the 12th time to keep the government closed in addition to voting against S. 3012 - Shutdown Fairness Act, which would have paid these hardworking men and women while they work to keep us safe through this shutdown.
