WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Don Davis (NC-01) has announced that high school students who reside in North Carolina's First Congressional District and wish to obtain a Congressional nomination to attend a military service academy can now submit an application.
"Service academies instill in our nation's youth the discipline, confidence, and sense of responsibility required to succeed in serving our country. As a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, serving our country in the military was one of the greatest callings I have ever answered. I encourage interested students to apply," said Congressman Don Davis.
Students applying for a Congressional nomination may choose to apply for one of the following academies: U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Military Academy at West Point, U.S. Air Force Academy, or the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. The U.S. Coast Guard Academy does not require a Congressional nomination.
In order to assist potential applicants and their families in understanding the nomination process, Congressman Davis will hold an NC-01 Virtual Service Academy Webinar on October 10, 2026. During the Webinar, attendees will receive information regarding service academy opportunities, eligibility requirements, as well as additional information regarding the Congressional nomination process.
Interested applicants should contact Seth Woodard at (202) 225-3101 or via email at [email protected] for further information. How to apply: Application for Service Academy Nomination |Representative Davis.
