Chinese Ambassador to Iran Cong Peiwu Meets with Mr. Ali Darabi, Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts

On June 16th, Ambassador Cong Peiwu met with Mr. Ali Darabi, Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts.

Ambassador Cong noted that President Xi Jinping has solemnly proposed the Global Civilization Initiative, charting the course for the harmonious coexistence of different civilizations. As two ancient civilizations, China and Iran need to enhance understanding through dialogue and promote solidarity through exchanges. He stressed the importance of opposing the "clash of civilizations" and "superiority of civilizations" fallacies, and continuously consolidating the cultural and people-to-people foundation for building a community with a shared future for mankind.

Darabi highly appreciated the important concepts and proposals put forward by President Xi Jinping, including the Global Civilization Initiative. He stated that the Iranian side is willing to strengthen dialogue among civilizations, enhance cultural and people-to-people exchanges, and strengthen bond among the peoples with the Chinese side.
