Fall update from the WHOLE Pantry and the Basic Needs Hub

October 6, 2025

The WHOLE Pantry (Western Hub of Living Essentials) is excited to announce new staffing and the new student food security fee. We are excited to welcome Tulea Enochs as our full-time WHOLE Pantry Coordinator. Thanks to students voting in a Food Security Fee, a $4.50 fee per quarter, WHOLE can have a more stable food budget and contribute to a much-needed full time position.

With full financial aid not covering living expenses, and cuts to the Passport to Careers scholarship for former foster care students and unaccompanied homeless youth, students are going without the nutrition they need to persist in school.

WHOLE has established local partners in the community to help us with food recovery and purchasing food. Even with partners and a larger working budget, it is difficult to keep WHOLE stocked. Students, staff and faculty can volunteer with WHOLE in a variety of ways by filling out a short survey. If you want to donate food or funding, visit the WHOLE website for more information.

The WHOLE food pantry is in VU 435 and is part of the Basic Needs Hub. WHOLE provides access to food and hygiene products to Western students. If you would like more information on WHOLE or the Basic Needs Hub, please visit our websiteor connect with Gina Ebbeling, [email protected].
