Joint House and Senate Study Committee on Student Attendance in PreK-12 Education to Hold Meeting at the Georgia State Capitol

ATLANTA - The Joint House and Senate Study Committee on Student Attendance in PreK-12 Education, co-chaired by State Representative Chris Erwin (R-Homer) and State Senator John Kennedy (R-Macon), will hold a meeting on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 1 p.m. in room 341 of the Georgia State Capitol in Atlanta, Georgia.

Created by House Resolution 711, the House Study Committee on Student Attendance in PreK-12 Education will a provide a comprehensive review of student attendance in pre-kindergarten through grade 12 to examine the root causes of chronic absenteeism, evaluate best practices for improving student attendance and engagement and recommend legislative and policy initiatives to improve student attendance and engagement.
