Miami-Dade County Public Schools is hosting the second annual Green Schools Recognition Program Awards to recognize innovative environmental efforts among the 64 elementary, middle, high schools, and technical colleges that participated.
To date, the Green Schools Recognition Program has awarded over $15,000 directly to schools to power student-led sustainability projects by fundraising every single dollar from community sponsors.
These awards, funded entirely by community support, exemplify how schools, teachers, students, local leaders, and families who unite behind a shared vision come together across divides to secure a healthier, more resilient future for their children
One region will receive the Green Region of the Year Award. Up to 10 schools will receive cash prizes for top performance based on seven categories ranging from innovation to community involvement and resource conservation.
Interviews with school representatives from top performing schools, Ron Magill, John Morales, and district sustainability leaders
