Terra State Community College is proud to recognize Amanda Wahl, a Health Information Technology major, as the Rotary Student of the Month for April.

A resident of Fremont, Wahl is a graduate of Fremont Ross High School, class of 1995. After years away from the classroom, she made the decision to return to college and pursue a new career path in healthcare. She chose Terra State for its proximity to home, strong academic programs, and flexible online learning options, which allowed her to successfully balance her education with work and personal responsibilities.

"Returning to school after so many years was intimidating at first," Wahl said. "But Terra State made the transition manageable and gave me the confidence to succeed."

During her time at Terra State, Wahl has demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, earning a place on the Dean's List each semester and graduating this spring with Summa Cum Laude. She has also been actively involved on campus, volunteering with the Health Information Technology student organization, and assisting with college events.

Wahl credits her experience at Terra State with helping her build confidence, discipline, and resilience. She also expressed gratitude for the support and guidance of her instructors, which helped shape her academic and career direction.

Inspired by her previous experience as a nurse aide, Wahl chose the Health Information Technology program to transition from direct patient care to the administrative and data-focused side of healthcare.

Following graduation, Wahl plans to pass the Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) exam and begin her career in a hospital or healthcare facility. She is eager to gain experience in the field and remains open to continuing her education and pursuing additional certifications in the future.

Wahl also acknowledges the important role her family has played in her success. "This journey hasn't always been easy, but the encouragement and support from my two boys, Quentin and Forrest, has kept me going," she said.

Terra State Community College congratulates Amanda Wahl on this well-deserved recognition and looks forward to her continued success in the healthcare field.
