On 12 June 2026, H.E. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, in his capacity as the Chairman of the Thailand - U.S. Educational Foundation (TUSEF) Board, presided over the Congratulatory Ceremony and Reception for 2026 Thai Fulbright Grantees to congratulate the grantees who will pursue their studies in the U.S. The event was attended by representatives of the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok, TUSEF board members and executives, Fulbright alumni, grantees, and their families.

The Vice Foreign Minister underscored the close and enduring relationship between Thailand and the U.S., emphasizing that educational cooperation and people-to-people exchanges have played an important role in fostering mutual understanding and trust, forming a strong foundation for bilateral relations. He also highlighted the Fulbright Program as one of the mechanisms supporting such cooperation between the two countries for more than 75 years, with Fulbright grantees continuing to contribute meaningfully to the societies of both countries in fields such as public health, science and technology, education, arts and culture, environment, and foreign affairs.

TUSEF was established under an agreement between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and the U.S. Department of State on 1 July 1950 with the objective of promoting mutual knowledge and understanding between Thailand and the U.S. through academic exchanges and the development of cultural understanding. To date, Fulbright Thailand has supported more than 3,000 Thai and American students, scholars, researchers, and professionals.
