TAMPA, FL. (OCTOBER 1, 2026) - - The Tampa Police Department has reclassified a death investigation to a homicide and detectives are sharing video of the suspect to help bring justice to the victim's family.

On the afternoon of September 22, 2026, Tampa Police responded to a shooting on Nebraska Ave near McEwen Ave, where they located an adult black male in his early sixties suffering from a gunshot wound.

Tampa Police Officers immediately provided life-saving care before Tampa Fire Rescue transported him to a local hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries on September 26, 2026.

Investigators remained committed to gathering evidence, witness statements, and developing leads to identify and arrest the suspect. They are now releasing video capturing the suspect, who appears to be an adult male with a medium build, red or light brown hair, and a short beard, and was riding a distinctive red mountain bike.

Detectives are asking everyone to take a close look at the video in the hope that someone in our community will recognize the suspect and help detectives positively identify and locate him. Even the smallest detail could be the key to identifying this individual and bringing justice to a grieving family.
