Senator Space Urges State House Dems To Abandon Push For Climate Superfund Bill

"Everywhere I go around my district, the most prominent issue I hear about is the anxiety my constituents feel about the cost-of-living in New Jersey. I'm sure my legislative colleagues hear much the same in their respective districts. That is why I'm calling upon Democratic legislative leaders to pull the Climate Superfund Act, S-2338, from consideration today.

"The bill's proponents think they're 'sticking it to the man' with this legislation and the residents are going to realize they're 'the man' when they're saddled with higher energy prices, increased fuel costs, and jobs leaving New Jersey.

"Business and labor are aligned in their opposition to this detrimental bill. The major business alliances as well as the New Jersey Building and Construction Trades Council have come out strongly against this proposal because they know it raises costs and chases investment away from New Jersey, and with that investment goes jobs.

"It's not too late to take action. Trenton Democrats can pull back the reins on this unwise proposal and make affordability the real priority."
