At about 11 p.m. on Nov. 16, Columbia Police responded to a missing person call around the Providence Road and Green Meadows area for 75-year-old Phillip McWhorter. Phillip is new to the area and suffers from dementia.
Officers searched all night and into the morning. Officers requested air support, and a Silver Advisory was issued. Multiple members of the public reported seeing a man matching the description from the Silver Advisory. Phillip was located, returned to his home safely and then examined by medical professionals.
The Columbia Police Department would like to thank the Boone County Sheriff's Office for assisting with the search, and the members of the public who were able to help locate Phillip.
