Areas of North Spokane in Indian Trail will be impacted by a PSPS today.

SPOKANE, Wash. - June 16, 2026: Due to forecasted extreme weather conditions including red flag warning, Avista is shutting off power in the areas of northwest Spokane in Indian Trail to reduce the risk of wildfire at around 1:00 pm today. This proactive de-energization should affect about 1800 customers. Customers affected by this proactive step will receive direct communication. After the Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) occurs, we will not turn the power back on until the high fire risk has passed, and conditions are safe.

When it is safe to do so, Avista crews will work as quickly and safely as possible to restore your service. We will manually patrol the line with crews and drones.

Visit Avista's outage map at myavista.com/outage for the most up-to-date information. Estimated restoration times will not be immediately available. Restoration times may be delayed depending on weather and system conditions. To update your contact information visit myavista.com/profile or call (800) 227-9187.

What you need to know:

  • We recommend you plan for an extended outage.
  • Be prepared to use your personal family emergency plan, if needed.
  • Avista will continue to monitor high-fire risk conditions and will contact you with further updates.
  • Depending on how long high fire risk weather conditions last, or if repairs are needed to damaged power lines, power could stay off longer than 48 hours.
  • If you have a backup generator, please do a safety check, and make sure you have enough fuel to last several days. Generator safety tips can be found at myavista.com/PSPS.
  • If you rely on uninterrupted power for your health and safety or need assistance, additional support may be available.

If a Customer Resource Center (CRC) is activated, we will communicate with customers about the location and hours. CRCs will offer a place to charge small electronics, get water and snacks, and learn more about the power outage in your area

Please visit myavista.com/PSPS for the most up-to-date information, including Avista's outage map and CRC information.
