The Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Ahmet Ismaili, accompanied by Non-Executive Board Member Ms. Hoxha and Deputy Governor Ms. Shileku-Shala, held important separate meetings with the Executive Directors of the IMF and World Bank Constituencies during the Spring Meetings 2025 of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank.
In the meeting with Mr. Yigit Yasar, Executive Director at the IMF, discussions focused on ongoing projects with the IMF and further support for strengthening the institutional capacities of the Central Bank of Kosovo (CBK) and the financial sector supervision. Governor Ismaili expressed his gratitude to Mr. Yasar for the continued support provided to Kosovo within the framework of the IMF Constituency to which the country belongs.
Likewise, in the meeting with Ms. Nathalie Francken, Executive Director at the World Bank, the current cooperation in the framework of financial sector projects was highly appreciated, including the project for Kosovo's integration into SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area) and the development of the fast payment system TIPS Clone. Governor Ismaili thanked Ms. Francken for the professional support provided by World Bank experts in drafting the legal framework and strengthening institutional capacities, as well as for their assistance during the implementation phase of the project, which represents an important step toward advancing the country's financial system and improving services for citizens.
The CBK remains committed to deepening cooperation with international partners to advance financial development and strengthen institutional capacities in support of stability and sustainable economic growth.
