Worcester Division of Public Health Launches New Maternal and Child Health Dashboard

WORCESTER, Mass. - The City of Worcester Division of Public Health (WDPH) announced Friday the launch of its Maternal and Child Health Dashboard, an interactive online tool designed to increase transparency, inform public policy, and improve outcomes for mothers, infants, and families across Worcester.

Developed in collaboration with public health professionals and community organizations, the dashboard presents comprehensive data on key indicators such as prenatal care, infant mortality, birth outcomes, and access to services. It is free to use for all members of the public.

"The launch of our Maternal and Child Health data dashboard marks a powerful step forward in our commitment to transparency, equity, and community-driven change," said WDPH Director Tamara Lundi. "By putting this data directly into the hands of the public, we are not just sharing information-we are building a shared vision for healthier futures, informed decisions, and stronger beginnings for every family in Worcester. This is more than a tool-it's a promise of progress."

To further enhance the quality and specificity of available data, WDPH will be utilizing its partnership with UMass Chan Medical School and the Worcester Integrated Health Data Exchange initiative to obtain locally sourced clinical data from area healthcare providers. This collaboration will help ensure more accurate, timely, and granular insights into maternal and child health trends-ultimately strengthening data-informed interventions and improving outcomes citywide.

"The City of Worcester Maternal Child Health Data dashboard proves our commitment to making public health data accessible to our residents," said WDPH Deputy Director Nikki Nixon. "It has been an idea of the WDPH to have more focused dashboards since we released the e-CHA [Community Health Assessment] in 2023, and I am proud that it has finally come to fruition."

WDPH recognizes that improving maternal and child health in Worcester is not just a public health goal, but a community's responsibility. This dashboard will enable the community to see where the greatest needs are, highlight collective progress, and determine how to collectively work to ensure that every mother and child in Worcester can thrive.

WDPH is excited to introduce this new initiative to the community and invite all residents, policymakers, healthcare providers and community organizations to explore the dashboard, share relevant data and join the effort to build a healthier and more equitable Worcester.
