Midtown Sewer Replacement Project work now underway

On Monday, June 29, Ghilotti Construction Company mobilized crews and equipment to the project site and began construction activities for the Midtown Sewer Replacement Project.

The project will replace approximately 2,200 linear feet of aging sanitary sewer main, service laterals, and manholes along Gateway Boulevard, Gateway Court, Lincoln Street, Grant Street, and Grant Court.

These improvements will strengthen the reliability of the City's wastewater collection system and help prevent future maintenance issues and service disruptions.

Construction began on Lincoln Street toward Pennsylvania Street. Work will then move to Grant Street and Grant Court. Gateway Boulevard and Gateway Court are also included in the project area, and the City will share updates before work moves into those areas. Lincoln Street will be closed to through traffic first, followed by Grant Street and Grant Court as work progresses. Residential access will be maintained for properties near the work area.

Drivers should follow posted signs, allow extra travel time, and use caution near active construction zones. Traffic control signs will guide drivers around work areas.

The City will keep residents updated as work progresses.
