MariBell Transmission Project: November Open Houses

All News

As part of the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) Long-Range Transmission Project 26, Dairyland and GridLiance Heartland, LLC (GridLiance), a subsidiary of NextEra Energy Transmission, LLC, will jointly develop and co-own the MariBell Transmission Project. The approximately 140-mile, 765 kilovolt (kV) / 161 kV double circuit MariBell transmission line will run from Marion, Minn., to Bell Center, Wis. It represents the middle segment of Project 26, which extends from North Rochester, Minn., to Columbia, Wis. The project will strengthen regional grid reliability and support growing renewable energy resources.

The MariBell Transmission Project team will host three open houses in November. The informational meetings will provide community members with an opportunity to learn more about the project, including the timeline, design and proposed route. Additional open houses as required by the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission and the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin, will occur at a later date.

You can learn more by visiting the MariBell Transmission Project website.
