Upcoming fall training series focuses on changes to Certified Enrollment and SRI

The Iowa Department of Education's Student Reporting in Iowa (SRI) team is traveling across the state this fall to host a series of full-day, interactive training sessions that support Iowa school districts with meeting the requirements of Senate File 2201.

At the Certified Enrollment and SRI training opportunities, participants will learn more about the new requirements outlined in SF2201, including;

  • Two Count Dates: Official Certified Enrollment counts will now occur twice a year on Oct. 1 and Jan. 15.
  • Funding Calculation: Funding for the 2027-28 school year will be based on the average of these two count dates (Oct. 1, 2026 and Jan. 15, 2027).
  • Quarterly Payments: The payment schedule for both school districts and AEAs will shift from a monthly distribution to quarterly, beginning for the 2026-27 school year.
  • Strict Department Release Timelines: The Department is now legally required to release data within 30 days from the Oct. 15 deadline and within 21 days from the Jan. 30 deadline.
  • Five-Day District Resolution Window: Districts will have a strict, five-day window from notification to voluntarily resolve disputes or discrepancies.

Any school personnel who work on the district's Certified Enrollment and SRI information are strongly encouraged to attend a training session. Both veteran managers and those who are new to these processes will gain valuable information and support from the trainings.
