Free Motor Oil & Filter Recycling Events

Palm Desert event set for Saturday, March 21

The Coachella Valley Association of Governments (CVAG), in partnership with local AutoZone stores, is hosting a series of free Motor Oil and Filter Recycling events throughout the Coachella Valley this spring, including an event in Palm Desert on Saturday, March 21.

Residents are invited to bring their used motor oil and oil filters to the Palm Desert AutoZone located at 34860 Monterey Ave.Participants can recycle up to five gallons of used motor oil per vehicle and receive a free replacement oil filter (up to a $15 value) when they bring in a used filter. Limit two free filters per household.

Properly recycling used motor oil and filters helps protect the environment by preventing contamination of soil and water while conserving valuable resources.

Additional CVAG recycling events will be held at the following locations:

  • Sunday, March 22 - AutoZone, 12660 Palm Dr., Desert Hot Springs

  • Saturday, March 28 - AutoZone, 1717 E. Vista Chino Dr., Palm Springs

  • Sunday, March 29 - AutoZone, 812 E. Hobson Way, Blythe

  • Saturday, May 2 - AutoZone, 50700 Harrison St., Coachella

  • Sunday, May 3 - AutoZone, 78792 Hwy 111, La Quinta

Community members are encouraged to take advantage of these free recycling opportunities and do their part to keep the Coachella Valley clean and sustainable.
