Wednesday's Bellingham City Club meeting will feature WWU's Eric Grossman, a research geologist in the College of the Environment, on a panel exploring "Our Multi-Billion Dollar Challenge: The Nooksack River Today & Tomorrow."

Grossman, who conducts research on coastal processes, hazards, and ecosystems, will be joined on the panel by Whatcom County Flood Planning and Mitigation Manager Paula Harris, and Everson Mayor John Perry.

The Bellingham City Club will meet Wednesday, April 22, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Bellingham Yacht Club. Reservations are strongly encouraged.

Laurie Trautman, director of WWU's Border Policy Research Institute recently joined the board of the City Club, a non-partisan civic organization dedicated to fostering informed public dialogue on the issues that shape Bellingham and Whatcom County.

Trautman said she looks forward to furthering the mission of the Bellingham City Club and providing informed analysis and guidance on numerous cross-border policy issues that affect our region.
