WT Back-to-School Job Fair Set for Aug. 27; Employer Deadline Aug. 13

CANYON, Texas - Deadline is Aug. 13 for West Texas A&M University's first career fair of the 2026-2027 academic year.

The Back-to-School Job Fair will run from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 27 on the Charles K. and Barbara Kerr Vaughan Pedestrian Mall on WT's Canyon campus.

Registration deadline for companies is 11:59 p.m. Aug. 13. There is a $50 fee to attend for Canyon/Amarillo employers and no cost for WT departments.

During the come-and-go job fair, students will look for part-time employment opportunities both on- and off-campus.

"At the Back-to-School Job Fair, employers can expect to see more than 300 students who are actively looking to find employment as they kick off the school year," said Sam Green, associate director of the WT Office of Career and Professional Services. "We are excited to help foster some meaningful connections for both employers and students. These connections have long-term implications as far as skill development and students' employability. As with any of our services, our ultimate goal is to help our students graduate and succeed."

WT classes resume Aug. 24.

Upcoming job fairs include the Graduate and Professional Schools Fair on Sept. 8; the Fall Career and Internship Expo on Oct. 1; and Meet the Accountants on Nov. 12.

Meeting regional needs is a key component of the University's long-range plan, WT 125: From the Panhandle to the World.

That plan is fueled by the One West comprehensive fundraising campaign, which raised more than $200 million dollars, the largest such campaign in Texas Panhandle history.
