Randy Travis Reveals Details About Upcoming Album, 'Never-Before-Heard' Music 'From The Vault'

Randy Travis revealed new details "on his never-before-heard, highly anticipated new album," according to a press release issued Friday morning (September 4).

Travis, 67, will deliver his first collection of new music in nearly two decades on November 13. The 12-track album, Same Old Way, includes "Fish On," "I Don't Care," the title track - which Travis wrote with longtime producer Kyle Lehning - and more. The songs "span Randy's distinguished recording career from 1986 to 2013," the press release states. Same Old Way is an album that many fans and music industry officials "weren't sure…would ever be possible again," following the country legend's stroke in 2013.

The stroke left Travis with lasting damage to the part of the brain that controls speech and language. In recent years, Travis has released a few groundbreaking new singles with the help of AI (Artificial Intelligence). His wife, Mary, previously told iHeartCountry that "it was so beautiful to hear that voice. "

"When life throws you a curveball, swing for the fences the 'same old way' and hope you knock it out of the park!" Travis said in a statement. "Team Travis helped me run the bases on this one, and it feels like a home run! It's a joy and a blessing to be able to bring new music to my listeners-thank you all for still showing up for me."

The press release issued Friday morning states that "Randy continues to make history, and this album is living proof of that." Travis' longtime producer and friend, Lehning, uncovered the songs that appear on Same Old Way. They'd been in the vault for years, and now, they've been assembled, remixed and remastered to debut the first original music from Travis in about 18 years.

Same Old Way also arrives in the same year Travis celebrated the 40th anniversary of his debut studio record. The North Carolina-born legend released Storms Of Life in 1986, launching his unparalleled career. He's also continuing his "More Life Tour" through the fall, which includes more than 50 cities across the country.
