There's Still Time to Join TTB's Tax Simplification Pilot Program for Brewers!

We continue to expand participation in our Tax Simplification Pilot for brewers, with more than 500 breweries now taking part. If you haven't enrolled yet, there's still time to join and help shape the future of Federal tax and operational reporting for breweries.

Note for Current Pilot Participants

Pilot participants should have recently received a survey link via email from TTB via SurveyMonkey with the subject line "Feedback Request - Tax Simplification Beer Pilot." The survey is short and should take less than 10 minutes to complete.

We're requesting more detailed feedback at this stage of the pilot so we can better understand how the new forms and instructions are working in practice. Your insights are essential to help us understand your experience and keep making improvements moving forward.

About the Pilot

Participating brewers file streamlined pilot forms in place of the Excise Tax Return (TTB Form 5000.24) and the Brewer's Report of Operations (TTB Forms 5130.9 or 5130.26).

More details on eligibility and how to apply are available in Industry Circular 2025-1.

Why Participate?

  • Save time on filing. Pilot forms simplify and synchronize the brewery return and report filing process, reducing time spent and the number of filings.
  • Help improve the process. Participant feedback directly informs program improvements. Feedback may be submitted anytime through TTB's Tax Simplification Contact Us page.
