Canada: Canada Proposes Import Requirement Changes for Heat-Treated Pet Food Products from the United States

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is consulting on proposed changes for import requirements for some U.S. pet food products. The CFIA is proposing the changes for heat-treated pet food, characterizing that they will provide greater flexibility for industry once implemented. Comments on the proposal must be submitted to CFIA by October 15, 2026.
