GW Alumnus Wins National Award for Research on Moths

Yair Ben-Dor has been recognized by the Lepidopterists' Society for outstanding student research.

Yair Ben-Dor, B.A. '25, was awarded the prize for best student poster and at the annual meeting of the Lepidopterists' Societyfor his research on host-associated differentiation in the oak dagger moth. The award highlights his contributions to the study of Lepidoptera, an order of insects that includes butterflies and moths.

The Lepidopterists' Society, founded in 1947, is an international organization dedicated to the study and appreciation of butterflies and moths. With members in more than 60 countries, the society promotes collaboration among professionals and amateurs to further education, research and conservation in lepidopterology.
