Boeing and Thailand’s Civil Aviation Authority Collaborate to Advance Pilot Training through Competency-Based Training and Assessment

BANGKOK, Thailand, September 1, 2026 - Boeing and the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) today announced a first-of-its kind collaboration to introduce Boeing's Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA) Learning Library solution across flight training organizations throughout Thailand.

The initiative marks the first time a regulator has implemented the CBTA Learning Library across an entire ecosystem. This will support the development of the next generation of airline pilots by providing access to Boeing's industry-leading CBTA learning content, designed to strengthen pilot competencies, improve training effectiveness, and better prepare cadets for modern airline operations.

As demand for 66,000 new pilots over the next 20 years continues to grow across Southeast Asia, the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to enhancing aviation safety, training quality, and workforce readiness. By aligning training with internationally recognized CBTA principles, Thai flight schools will be well positioned to develop pilots with the technical and behavioral competencies required for successful airline careers.

The deployment of Boeing's CBTA learning solution will be available to participating flight schools across Thailand, supporting a more standardized and competency-focused approach to pilot development.
