SAN FRANCISCO - January 30, 2026 - The San Francisco International Airport (SFO) announced the start of travel related to Super Bowl LX on February 8th, outlining extra flights, passenger traffic forecasts, travel advice, innovative passenger activations, and places to watch the game at SFO.
Airlines have scheduled 28 additional flights for the Super Bowl, including 10 extra arrivals on Friday, February 6th and 13 additional departures on Monday, February 9th. Officials expect approximately 1.3 million passengers to travel through SFO between February 1st and February 10th. The busiest single day is anticipated to be Monday, February 9th, with approximately 170,000 travelers going through SFO, a figure similar to the busiest holiday travel days.
Travelers are strongly encouraged to arrive at the airport at least 2 hours prior to departure for domestic flights and 3 hours prior to departure for international flights.
For security purposes, travelers are recommended to place commemorative game programs in a bin when going through the security screening process.
Starting Monday of Super Bowl week, SFO passengers can experience a series of "fan zones" located in multiple terminals.
