Napa County - Caltrans has set up a temporary traffic shift due to a sinkhole and culvert replacement job on State Route 29 (SR-29) in between Rutherford and Oakville (south of Glos Lane).Crews discovered a sinkhole near the center of the roadway on Thursday, Sept. 11. To help stabilize SR-29, Caltrans' Maintenance provided a temporary patch, and cones were set up with traffic shifted over partially to the shoulders.

Temporary traffic control continued in the area on Friday, Sept. 12. Changeable Message Signs (CMS) have been set up on Northbound and Southbound SR-29, and flaggers are in the area 24 hours per day to help the traveling public.

Residents should expect delays and to slow down in the construction area to help crews keep safe throughout the job.
