Rep. Teddy Reese to Receive President’s Award from Georgia Advancing Communities Together, Inc.

ATLANTA - State Representative Teddy Reese (D-Columbus) was recently selected to receive the President's Award from Georgia Advancing Communities Together (ACT), Inc. Rep. Reese was selected for this award for his contributions to Georgia ACT and advancing equitable housing and community development in the state.

"I am incredibly honored to receive the 2025 President's Award from Georgia ACT," said Rep. Reese. "Georgia ACT's work across our state is invaluable, especially as we see the price of housing continuing to rise throughout the country. This recognition reaffirms our shared commitment to advancing sound policies that will support and expand access to affordable housing initiatives for all Georgians, and I will remain committed to that effort through my work in the Georgia House of Representatives."

Rep. Reese will be formally presented with the President's Award at Georgia ACT's Annual Fall Affordable Housing and Awards Program on October 1, 2025, at Atlanta Metropolitan State College where his achievements will be celebrated with Georgia ACT's community. The event will also provide Rep. Reese with the opportunity to connect with fellow leaders, advocates and partners in the economic and community development sector.

Georgia ACT is a statewide membership organization representing the state's nonprofit housing and community development organizations. Georgia Advancing Communities Together, Inc.'s mission is to build and support a statewide network of thriving member organizations and trained professionals engaged in housing and community development serving families with limited housing choices. Georgia ACT's Policy and Advocacy Agenda supports strengthening resources and commitments to meet the affordable housing needs for all Georgians over their lifetimes, including rural, underserved and vulnerable populations of seniors, children, veterans, homeless and people with disabilities.

Representative Tremaine Teddy Reese represents the citizens of District 140, which includes a portion of Muscogee County. He first was elected to the House of Representatives in 2022 and currently serves on the Agriculture & Consumer Affairs, Economic Development & Tourism and Public and Community Health committees. He also serves on the Special Committee on Resource Management.
