“Open Your Heart. Open Your Home.” Angus Campaign Highlights Need for Foster Carers and Adopters

Friday 4 September 2026

The council's Fostering and Adoption team is encouraging people across Angus to "Open Your Heart. Open Your Home" as part of a new campaign highlighting the need for more foster carers and adopters.

Banners are now being displayed in some local parks and recycling centres in Angus, taking the message into communities and encourage people to find out more about how they could provide a safe, loving and supportive home for a local child or young person.

Convener of Family, Education and Justice, Cllr Heather Doran, said:

"There is a real need for more foster carers and adopters in Angus, and we hope this campaign will encourage people to think about whether they could open their heart and their home to a local child or young person.

"Fostering and adoption can change lives - making a lasting difference to the lives of children and young people, but also to the lives of the foster carers and adopters who welcome them into their homes and lives.

"We know that taking the first step can feel daunting, but our dedicated team is here to offer information, guidance and support.

"If you have ever thought about fostering or adoption, I would encourage you to get in touch. You may have more to offer than you realise, and you could provide the stable and caring home that a local child needs."
