Rep. Brian Prince Appointed to House Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Transportation Infrastructure and Vehicle Regulation

ATLANTA - State Representative Brian Prince (D-Augusta), chairman of the House Urban Affairs Committee, was recently appointed by House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington) to serve as a member of the House Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Transportation Infrastructure and Vehicle Regulation.

"I want to thank Speaker Burns for the opportunity to serve on the House Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Transportation Infrastructure and Vehicle Regulation," said Rep. Prince. "As a member of the House Transportation and Motor Vehicles committees, I have seen first-hand the many ongoing issues related to Georgia's transportation systems that require continued attention and thoughtful discussion. I look forward to working with my colleagues to address these issues, particularly ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026 and the event's impact on our state's infrastructure, and I believe this study committee will be a step in the right direction."

The House Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Transportation Infrastructure and Vehicle Regulation will evaluate Georgia's transportation networks and regulations to improve efficiency, streamline utility right-of-way coordination, control costs and strengthen safety statewide.

Speaker Burns also appointed the following study committee members: State Representatives Rick Jasperse (R-Jasper), Lauren McDonald, III (R-Cumming), Matt Dubnik (R-Gainesville), Vance Smith (R-Pine Mountain), Jutt Howard (R-Carrolton), Holt Persinger (R-Winder), Don Parsons (R-Marietta), Marvin Lim (D-Norcross) and Gary Richardson (R-Evans).

Representative Brian Prince represents the citizens of District 132, which includes Jefferson County, as well as a portion of Richmond County. He was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2013 and currently serves as Chairman of the Urban Affairs Committee. He also serves on the Appropriations, Appropriations Subcommittee on General Government, Defense & Veterans Affairs, Motor Vehicles, Reapportionment and Redistricting, Technology and Infrastructure Innovation, Transportation and Ways & Means committees.
