Capital Transit Summer Service Begins May 4

Schedules and routing for Capital Transit's 2026 summer season will go into effect Monday, May 4 with service changes, extended hours, and temporary route suspensions.

Timepoints for some stops on all bus routes have changed. Check the new schedules to avoid missing your bus at juneaucapitaltransit.org/schedules or Transit Directions in Google Maps.

Capital Transit's Token Transit app can be used to conveniently purchase bus fares and passes from your phone. Visit juneaucapitaltransit.org/fares to learn more and download the app.

Routing Changes

  • Route 1 Downtown / 4th Street - Buses will not go up to the Cedar Park bus stop in the evening. As an alternative, please board the Route 1 Douglas bus at Cedar Park at :24 minutes after the hour, or at the Douglas Highway stop opposite Cordova Street at :37 minutes after the hour.

Service Additions

  • Route 8 Valley / Downtown Express - Weekend hours will be added, approximately 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
  • Sunday Core Service (Route 1, 3, & 4) - Hours will be extended to approximately 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Temporary Suspensions Until Further Notice

  • Starting Monday, May 4, the 6:45 a.m. run of the Route 9 Downtown Egan Express from the Valley Transit Center will be suspended. Please use the following as alternatives:
  • Route 7 Lemon Creek / Downtown service departing the Valley Transit Center at 6:45 a.m.
  • Route 9 Downtown Egan Express from the Valley Transit Center at 6:25 a.m. or 7:15 a.m.
  • Starting Monday, May 4, the 7 a.m. run of the Route 8 Valley Express from the Downtown Transit Center will be suspended. Please use the following as alternatives:
  • Route 4 Mendenhall Valley from the Downtown Transit Center at 6:40 a.m.
  • Route 3 Mendenhall Valley from the Downtown Transit Center at 7:10 a.m.
  • The Route 6 Airport Connector service is suspended as of Monday, April 20 through this summer.
