Colorado is Ranked 2nd Healthiest State in the Country

DENVER - According to a recent study on the health and wellness of states, Colorado ranks as the second healthiest state in the country. Colorado ranked first in the lowest obesity rates and third in the most outdoor activity.

"In Colorado, we are focused on improving health and lowering healthcare costs by increasing healthy choices and access to care. I'm thrilled to continue to see Colorado rank as one of the healthiest states in the nation, and I look forward to seeing our progress on health access continue to take effect and move Colorado to the leading state. Maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle is in our mile-high DNA and I am proud of our continued leadership in this area," said Colorado Governor Jared Polis.

Governor Polis has been a leader in healthcare access, improving nutrition, and lowering the cost of prescription drugs and health care since his time in congress. Colorado has submitted an application to import lower cost prescription drugs, Governor Polis signed into law Colorado's landmark Colorado Option and reinsurance initiative to expand healthcare access, and recently got federal approval to increase access to health food options for Coloradans receiving SNAP benefits.
