DALLAS - Dallas ISD is raising the bar for student support with the launch of its new School Counselor Excellence Instrument. The framework sets clear expectations for best practices in counseling, ensuring students across the district receive consistent, high-quality guidance. Focused on four key areas, planning, program delivery, college and career readiness, and professional growth, the SCEI empowers counselors to better serve students while strengthening collaboration with campus leaders.

VISUALS:Dallas ISD families surprised by Kyler Murray Foundation
During South Oak Cliff High School's Homecoming game on Oct. 23, Missy and Kevin Murray, parents of Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray, made a special presentation on behalf of the Kyler Murray Foundation. Kevin, who is a proud Dallas ISD alumnus and member of the district's Athletics Hall of Fame, returned home to give back to the community that helped shape his own success. The foundation surprised two Dallas ISD families with a generous check donation to help cover housing costs and other essential needs for a year.

Families invited to attend Fam Jam
Dallas ISD families are invited to join the fun during Fam Jam at 9 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 25, at David W. Carter High School. This free event will feature health screenings, immunizations, academic activities, and resources to support students and families. With prizes, activities, and community connections, Fam Jam is all about bringing families, schools, and communities together.

Spruce students power up in mechatronics
The mechatronics program at H. Grady Spruce Early College High School gives students a head start on success. Mechatronics technology combines electrical and mechanical engineering, blending hands-on learning, college credit, and career-ready skills to prepare students for the workforce of tomorrow. Upon completion, participants earn an associate degree and a technical certification.
