The Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts (BCPA) celebrated another milestone this weekend as comedian Henry Cho's The Empty Nest Tour sold out his July 12, 2026, performance, marking another successful event for the City of Bloomington's Arts & Entertainment Department.
Henry Cho has built a national following with his clean, relatable comedy, performing for audiences across the country for decades. Earlier this year, he was inducted as the 229th member of the Grand Ole Opry, becoming the first comedian to receive the honor since 1973. His career has included appearances on The Tonight Show, The Late Late Show, Comedy Central, Netflix, and SiriusXM, making him one of today's most recognizable clean comedians.
More than 1,100 tickets were sold for the performance, reflecting the community's growing enthusiasm for national entertainment in Bloomington.
"Our goal is to create lasting memories for our community through exceptional live entertainment," said Anthony Nelson, Director of the City of Bloomington Arts & Entertainment Department. "As Bloomington continues to grow and our downtown becomes an even more vibrant destination, we're seeing increased interest in arts and entertainment. That allows us to attract bigger artists and offer more experiences for our community. The response to Henry Cho has been incredible, and we're excited about the lineup we've built for the months ahead."
That momentum continues with recently announced performances from country star Mitchell Tenpenny, Grammy Award-winning artist Melissa Etheridge, and multi-platinum singer-songwriter Deana Carter, along with a diverse lineup of concerts, comedy, family entertainment, and theatrical performances still to come.
The City of Bloomington's Arts & Entertainment Department remains committed to enhancing the community through high-quality entertainment, supporting a thriving downtown, and creating memorable experiences for residents and visitors alike.
