ICYMI: City of St. Petersburg Updates Timeline for Public Notice to Submit Proposals to Redevelop Historic Gas Plant District

Jan. 2, 2026 - The City of St. Petersburg is reminding residents that the City is in receipt of an unsolicited proposal to redevelop the approximately 86 acres of property in the Historic Gas Plant District. Pursuant to Florida Statute 163.380, the City is publishing a public notice on Sunday, January 4, to allow an opportunity for competing or alternative proposals from private developers or other interested parties for the lease, purchase, or development of all or a portion of the Historic Gas Plant District property. The alternate proposals submission window is open from Sunday, January 4, through 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 3. Proposals must be made by those interested within 30 days of publication.
