Marquette Theatre announces 2025-26 season, "Viewpoints"

Aug. 11, 2025

MILWAUKEE - Marquette University Theatre has announced its 2025-26 schedule of performances, including the season-opening production of "Fiddler on the Roof" to be performed at the Cabot Theatre in the Broadway Theatre Center in collaboration with the Skylight Music Theatre. Other performances take place in the Evan and Marion P. Helfaer Theatre, 1304 W. Clybourn St.

"The theme of the new season is 'Viewpoints' and represents a very exciting departure from our traditional season," said Jamie Cheatham, associate professor of theatre arts and artistic director. "We are thrilled to collaborate with Milwaukee's Skylight Music Theatre, allowing Marquette students to work alongside professionals in this exciting production. We will be back home at Helfaer Theatre for two big shows-an edgy comedy about 'viewing' and an all-out farce that shifts our point of view from onstage to behind the scenes."

Marquette's production of "Fiddler on the Roof" will see its cast and crew working alongside regional professionals for a unique experience for all. The season continues with the Pulitzer-winning "Fairview" and "Noises Off."

A shorter schedule of three productions will allow Marquette Theatre to also work with guest professionals and the Diederich College of Communication's digital media program to create a high-quality television pilot.

Tickets for "Fiddler on the Roof" are available now at the Skylight Music Theatre box office. Tickets for all other shows are available now for all shows through the Marquette Theatre ticketing webpage. For more information about performances, please contact the Helfaer Box Office at (414) 288-7504 or [email protected].

Fiddler on the Roof (Oct. 3-5, 8, 10-12, 15-19, 22-26)

A professional collaboration with Skylight Music Theatre

Music by Jerry Brock, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick and book by Joseph Stein

This beloved musical tells the tale of Tevye, a milkman with five daughters during a time of changing social mores and the growing anti-Semitism of czarist Russia.

"Fiddler on the Roof" is presented through arrangement with Music Theatre International.

Fairview (Nov. 14-16, 20-23

By Jackie Sibblies Drury

At the Frasier household, preparations for grandma's birthday party are underway. Beverly is holding on to her sanity by a thread to make sure this party is perfect, but her sister can't be bothered to help, her husband doesn't seem to listen, her brother is MIA, her daughter is a teenager, and maybe nothing is what it seems in the first place! Drury's script is edgy, unique and provides a dazzling exploration of how we view what we view and how we are viewed. "Fairview" won the 2019 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

"Fairview" is presented through arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc.

Noises Off (April 17-19, 23-26)

By Michael Frayn

One of the funniest shows ever about putting on a show. This hilarious romp follows the ridiculous onstage and offstage hijinks of a British theatre company trying to rehearse and perform their production of "Nothing's On." Doors slam, romantic intrigue is everywhere-and just try to keep track of the sardines!

"Noises Off" is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc.
