SENATOR ALSOBROOKS MEETS WITH STUDENTS AND FACULTY AT WOODLAWN MIDDLE SCHOOL

January 9, 2026

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD - Today, Senator Angela Alsobrooks (D-Md.) met with students and faculty, answered questions, and took a tour of the classrooms at Woodlawn Middle School. Senator Alsobrooks was joined by Dr. Myriam Rogers, Superintendent of Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS), County Executive Katherine Klausmeier, State Senator Charles Sydnor, State Senator Ben Brooks, State Delegate Aletheia McCaskill, State Delegate N. Scott Phillips, State Delegate Eric Ebersole, Baltimore County Councilmember Julian Jones, and Baltimore County Councilmember Israel "Izzy" Patoka. They were guided through the school by Dr. Rochelle Archelus, principal of Woodlawn Middle School, Kim Dupre, assistant principal at Woodlawn Middle School, Koneisha Robinson, assistant principal for 7th graders at Woodlawn Middle School, and Ronald McFadden, assistant principal for 8th graders at Woodlawn Middle School.

Senator Alsobrooks released the following statement after the visit:

"Middle school is one of the most important times in our lives. For many students, it's an awkward growing phase. But it is also such an exciting time: to discover who you are as a person, what interests you, and what your talents are. Woodlawn Middle School fosters that growth and prepares these students for lifetimes of success. I loved seeing the students engage in class, ask questions, and demonstrate true leadership. I will keep fighting in the Senate for investments so that every child in Maryland can access a world-class education."
