LANSING, Mich. - Officials from the Michigan Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA), Macomb County and local partners will break ground on the William P. Rosso Highway relocation and reconstruction project near Selfridge Air National Guard Base on Aug. 17 at 2 p.m. The project will improve transportation infrastructure near the base while supporting Selfridge's future mission requirements.

WHAT: William P. Rosso Highway Relocation Project Groundbreaking Ceremony
WHEN: Aug. 17, 2026 at 2 p.m.
WHERE: Northeast corner of William P. Rosso Highway and Town Center Boulevard
The project will relocate and reconstruct a portion of William P. Rosso Highway between Interstate 94 and Jefferson Avenue, supporting infrastructure improvements associated with Selfridge's future mission requirements. The project also represents a significant investment in Macomb County's transportation infrastructure and will improve roadway safety, traffic flow and drainage in the area.
Major components of the project include:
• Relocating and reconstructing William P. Rosso Highway
• Constructing a roundabout at Town Center Boulevard
• Relocating drainage infrastructure and the Irwin Drain
• Constructing concrete box culverts
• Completing pavement markings
Media Note: Media should arrive at the groundbreaking site and be in place no later than 1:30 p.m. The media staging area is at the northeast corner of William P. Rosso Highway and Town Center Boulevard, outside the Selfridge security gate. If you reach a security checkpoint, you have gone too far.
