Aviation safety knows no borders. At Communicating For Safety 2025, "Global Safety, Shared Skies: ATC Labor Perspectives on International Challenges" brought together labor leaders from around the world to address shared issues of staffing, technology, and rising traffic. Moderated by NATCA Safety Chair John Murdock, the panel featured Global Air Traffic Controllers Alliance President and Canadian Air Traffic Control Association (CATCA) President Nick von Schoenberg, International Federation of Air Traffic Controllers' Associations (IFATCA) Communications Coordinator Nicola Ni Riada of Ireland, Civil Air Australia President Scott Nugent, and NATCA Western Pacific Regional Vice President Joel Ortiz. Their discussion emphasized how collaboration among unions worldwide strengthens operations, training, and safety standards for the global aviation system.
