On 6 February in Chișinău, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Kęstutis Budrys, will meet with the President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi, and Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov.
The meetings in Chișinău will focus on the strengthening of bilateral relations between Lithuania and Moldova, support for Moldova's EU integration and structural reforms related to the country's EU accession process, as well as support for Ukraine.
Additional attention will be paid to the prevention of Russian hybrid attacks in Moldova and the region as a whole, as well as to regional security challenges.
Moldova faced unprecedented Russian hybrid attacks during the country's presidential and parliamentary elections in 2024 and 2025, as well as during the referendum on anchoring the country's direction towards EU integration, and suffers economic difficulties following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
