SPRINGFIELD - The Illinois State Museum-Dickson Mounds will host a series of community listening sessions to gather public input as the museum plans for the future. The public is invited to share their experiences, memories and ideas for the Dickson Mounds Museum.
"Dickson Mounds has long been a pillar in preserving the history of the Illinois River Valley," said Sara Shaffer-Henry, associate director of Dickson Mounds Museum. "As we begin planning for the future of the museum, we want our communities to be part of that process."
Listening sessions will be hosted on the following dates:
Wednesday, April 29
1 to 2 p.m.
Lewistown Public Library, 1126 N. Main St., Lewistown
Saturday, May 2
11 a.m. to noon
Lewistown Public Library, 1126 N. Main St., Lewistown
Wednesday, May 6
1 to 2 p.m.
Spoon River College-Havana Campus, 324 E. Randolph St., Havana
Dickson Mounds Museum is located at 10956 N. Dickson Mounds Road in Lewistown and is open Tuesday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call at 309-547-3721.
