Shape Our Future: Engage in the Governance Reform Process

As announced in December 2025, IFOAM - Organics International is launching a structured and participatory process leading up to the 2026 Extraordinary General Assembly (GA). This is a vital moment for members to shape the future governance of our organisation.

We encourage all members to participate through our upcoming informative sessions, the dedicated feedback forum, and the Extraordinary GA itself.

Understand the Proposed Governance Models

To ensure informed participation, we are hosting several online informative sessions in April. These sessions are designed to provide a clear understanding of the reform and will cover:

  • An overview of the governance reform process.
  • A presentation of the proposed governance models.
  • Guidance on how to engage in the feedback and voting phases.
  • A live Q&A to address your questions directly.

We strongly encourage members to attend one of the sessions to gain a full understanding of the proposals before the consultation and voting stages.

Contribute via the Feedback Forum

In mid-April, all members will be invited to join a dedicated online feedback forum.

This platform is designed to:

  • Provide a detailed look at the proposed governance models
  • Enable direct feedback, comments, and propose amendments from the membership
  • Facilitate a two-way dialogue between members and the World Board
  • Offer an open space to raise questions and share perspectives

Active participation at this stage is essential. It ensures that the final proposals brought to the Assembly truly reflect the diversity and needs of the global membership.

Vote at the Extraordinary General Assembly

The process culminates at the Extraordinary General Assembly on 1 and 5 June 2026. During these sessions, members will be asked to cast their votes on the governance model that will shape the future of IFOAM - Organics International.

  • Attendance: All members are warmly invited to attend the sessions
  • Voting Rights: Please note that official voting rights are reserved for eligible voting members.
  • Impact: Your participation is crucial to ensuring that the chosen model represents the collective vision of our network.

Members are encouraged to:

  3. Appoint their voting delegates (for voting members) and register for the GA in June
